Henry David Thoreau

Born this day in 1817, died 6 May 1862, Thoreau was an American author, poet, philosopher, abolitionist, naturalist, tax resister, and historian. He is best known for his book Walden, a reflection upon simple living in natural surroundings.

2. It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.

3. Read the best books first.
