Fall Music Playlist

  1. Sera Cahoone, Deer Creek Canyon – The sound of changing leaves. Lots of Gillian Welch present in Sera.
  2. Shovels & Rope, Birmingham – Suck on this Toby Keith.
  3. The Velvet Underground, Some Kind of Love – Great track off one of the best albums around.
  4. Lee Fields & The Expressions, My World is Empty Without You – Neo-psychedelic soul cover of the Supremes’ original.
  5. Chris Cohen, Optimist High – This song reminds me of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and specifically the song Kamera. Always a good thing.
  6. Crosby, Still, & Nash, Long Time Gone – Some hippy shit.
  7. Father John Misty, I’m Writing a Novel – Former Fleet Foxes drummer J. Tillman’s latest effort. Some funny lyrics in there.
  8. Townes Van Zandt, White Freightliner Blues – “Like Bob Dylan for smart people” – anonymous. TVZ and Fall go together like pork chops and apple sauce.
  9. Bob Dylan, Country Pie – “Bob Dylan smiling on this record cover like he just ate a free ham dinner.” – Dan Cassaro.
  10. Iron & Wine, Freedom Hangs Like Heaven – Contemporary American roots music at it’s finest.
  11. Nick Drake, From The Morning – The most haunted voice in music.
  12. First Aid Kit, Emmylou – Nashville meets Sweden.

Listen online at Rdio.
