Skiing Bear Trap Fork – Big Cottonwood Canyon

Big Cottonwood Canyon

This past Super Bowl Sunday, we ventured out in search of some super bowls of our own filled with Utah’s finest. What we found was Utah bluebird powder skiing at it’s finest. Bear Trap Fork sits over the Park City ridge line in Big Cottonwood and offers quick access as well as mellow, gladed turns right outside the Canyons Resort backcountry skiing gates.

These signs mean business. No turn is worth dying for. Don’t be a dumbass – travel prepared. Respect the mountain and your fellow skier. Utah Avalanche Center is your friend.

Blue skies + cold smoke = bliss.

Gotta get up to get down… the end to a truly fantastic day on the mountain. As always, never venture into the backcountry, no matter the forecast or danger rating, without proper training and equipment. For more photos, visit me on Flickr, Tumblr, or Instagram.
